Blog Entry:  I once read a very thought provoking blog which said something like a child thanking her parents for the good things she had picked from their day to day activities when they thought she wasnt looking.The lines went somewhat like this-----WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASNT LOOKING I LEARNT MOST OF LIFESLESSONS THAT I NEED TO KNOWHOW TO BE GOOD  WHEN I GROW UP.WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASNT LOOKING I LOOKED AT YOU AND WANTED TO SAY ' THANKS FOR ALL THE THINGS I SAW WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASNT LOOKING LOVELY lines these but it rang a bell in my head and Ireacted with the following linesWHEN I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T LOOKING "YOU"SAW ME DO THINGS AND PICKED THEM UP AND EMULATED ME AND "HOW I REGRET MY ACTIONS. HOW "SAD" I FEEL WHEN I AM FORCED TO PUNISH YOU .HOW I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT ELSE I MAY HAVE TAUGHT YOU?I NOW I PROMISE MYSELF TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE WATCHING ME AND   "I AM YOUR FUTURE!!"Inumerable articles have been written saying CHILD IS THE FUTURE OF MAN but do we realize that it is we who are the future of the child .Have we realized that we are role models ?children emulate and copy us.We are under observation constantly our behaviour is assimilated by children in their lives. This goes to prove that GENERATION NEXT is the replica of GENERATION EX they refine the crude provided by us and in the process satisfy their selfish interests too. So lets beware;teach and behave the way we want. The way we want our future world to be ; give a child values and she will never misuse them .She will know that there is a fine line called ethics which can not be crossed. Let her know as a child that what is wrong is wrong and cannot be undone.  Thus it is not only the hand which rocks the cradle that rules the world it is also the hand that holds the finger to guide. I shudder to think we are punishing our children for something we have taught them to do.
