About Me: Random Thoth also known as The Optick One is a Graffiti Artist from Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. and has been wrecking all available surfaces with graffiti since 1990. He has studied the “lessons” left behind from the generation before his (mid 80’s Hiphop) and continues the experience as one of the better artists to practice the high-risk lifestyle. He’s done everything from subway-trains (since 1989, ALL subway trains are barred from service if vandalized and penalties are much harsher) to music-video backdrops.
Early on he was instantly recognized, as an underground prodigy, and was sought after for collaborations and/or battles.
Whether he painted with allies or against foes, because style speaks for itself, they all gave him respect… And he was always generous to return it. As a brother from South Asia, he has represented the roots and culture of hip-hop through his craft well with out discrediting his origins.
He now resides in Dallas TX. But the distance from home (NYC) does little to wane his interest to contribute to the hip-hop culture, wherever it may be. With his knowledge and skills he will always be found alongside with those he can help add on with. Random Thoth is also known for his involvement with Electronic Music, as a DJ, Producer, as well a passed history in the B-Boy element and Lyrical skills/ poetic formation in the music.
